Residential Services

Our Process

A professional intake team reviews all referrals to determine appropriateness of placement at Positive Growth Boys Home. The review process is designed to identify youth who can be adequately serviced by our program and who meets the admissions criteria. Positive Growth accepts male residents between the ages of six to twenty-one, with consent from the State Department of Family and Children Services and the state Department of Juvenile Justice.

We will not accept males that display or have had previously documented any of the following:

  • Youth who fall into the low intellectual functioning range
  • Physically violent acts
  • Actively addicted, or dependent on Illegal Substance
  • Fire starter
  • Schizoid personality disorder
  • Convicted as a sexual perpetrator
  • Require consistent one-on-one attention due to their behavior or disorder.

In an attempt to create a smooth transition into our program and group living environment: all youth will be offered access to basic social services. Using the youth’s Individual Service Plan as the primary tool, we will involve ourselves in coordinating and making accessible to our youth every possible resource available, be it public or private, relative to the goals set forth in either the youth’s ISP or those that may be uncovered as they progress through our program.
