Counseling Services

Positive Growth Counseling Center,

Our services are provided at homes, schools, neighborhood sites, or in our office located in Clarkston, Georgia. Children and adolescents involved in court and foster care systems also benefit from the various services provided to them and their families. Positive Growth Counseling Center clinical staff provides a wide array of services including:

  • Individual Therapy

A face-to-face therapeutic session with an individual conducted in accordance with a documented treatment plan focusing on treating his/her predetermined problem.

  • Group Counseling / Group Training

A face-to face therapeutic session with a group of individuals conducted in accordance with a documented treatment plan focusing on treating his/her predetermined problem. Group size should not exceed ten.

  • Family Counseling / Family Training

A face-to face therapeutic session with family members conducted in accordance with a documented treatment plan focusing on treating family problems and goals.

  • Community Support Individual (CSI) and Behavioral Assistance (BA)

Provide comprehensive support services to consumers in need of crisis intervention, counseling/behavior management, skills training and resources to maintain stability and independence in their daily community living.

  • Crisis Intervention

An immediate therapeutic response available 24 hours a day which; depending on client’s needs, involves direct telephone or face-to-face contact with clients experiencing a mental health emergency or crisis. Emergency services are designed to stabilize the emergency situation and to provide immediate treatment in the least restrictive environment possible.

  • Behavior Health Assessments and Service Plan Development

A formal face-to-face comprehensive clinical assessment is conducted to establish problem identification, clinical diagnosis, or diagnostic impression.  An evaluation shall include an interview with the client and family, if the child is 18 or under.

  • Medication Evaluations/Management

A face-to-face interaction between the child/family and a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist is on staff to evaluate the need for medication, prescribe as necessary, and provide ongoing medication management for children and adolescents in this program.  An Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) and a Registered Nurse (RN) support Medical Services.

  • Nurse Assessments and Health Services

A face-to-face interaction by a nurse; licensed by the state of Georgia to provide Health/Addiction assessment and monitoring services.

Professional Staff

A dedicated trained team of licensed mental health professionals, certified counselors, facilitators, paraprofessional’s case managers, and behavioral analyst provide all services. Positive Growth Counseling Center strives to deliver all services with special attention to our client’s multilingual and multicultural needs.

Fees

Services are offered on an income-based sliding scale to insure that everyone gets the help they need regardless of income. We also accept individualized fees, private insurance, and Medicaid.

Our services are offered Monday through Saturday. Saturday by appointment only.
